Amanda graduated from Columbia College in 2019 with a BA in Biology and a Concentration in Ethnicity and Race Studies. After conducting basic science and clinical research during undergrad, she currently works in the CIRCLE Lab at UNC Chapel Hill to study the effects of early life adversity (such as abuse and neglect) on the brain development of young children. She will be starting medical school in 2021, and is excited to apply her CSER foundations to the study of the social determinants of health. She aims to become a physician who improves health outcomes for black women and children.
