Crystal is a PhD student in Performance Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. She received her BA in History and Ethnicity and Race Studies from Columbia University. Her senior thesis, “In This Project of Undoing: Practices of Resistance and Imagination in the Collegiate Ballroom Dance Community,” was awarded the CSER Outstanding Thesis Award. Her research explores how Asian American women perform, negotiate, and improvise from a position of always already compromised agency.
