In this pioneering study of Black history that centers queer voices, Professors C Riley Snorton and Darius Bost trace the lives of LGBTQ+ Black Americans from slavery to present day. In the midst of federal attacks on Black and queer communities, Snorton and Bost offer this narrative of Black queer communities as a tool for both contextualizing ongoing struggles and locating strategies for transformation. Our intimate book talk and student-led discussion will consider how we may use this history to confront our current crises.

Attendees will receive a free copy of A Black Queer History of the United States. Dinner will be served.

Seating is limited; registration is required.
